Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals and families. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, addressing a range of mental health issues through various therapeutic modalities. Training in EMDR or trauma informed care is a plus. Working across the age span with a variety of diagnoses and backgrounds is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Crisis Intervention.
  • Develop treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of clients, including those with developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction issues, and grief.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on behavioral management and support for individuals dealing with chronic pain or mental health challenges.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for billing purposes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and effective case management.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling services as needed.
  • Engage in clinical research activities to enhance therapeutic practices and contribute to the field of mental health.
  • Provide direct support in inpatient or outpatient settings, ensuring a safe environment for all clients.

Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential.
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy with a focus on child & family counseling and crisis management.
  • Familiarity with behavioral therapies such as Applied Behavior Analysis and Art Therapy is preferred.
  • Experience working with special populations including geriatrics, individuals with autism, or those requiring special education services is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, patient assessment techniques, and clinical documentation practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through training in areas such as psychopharmacology or gender issues counseling.
